How to clean your cars interior

How to clean your cars interior like a pro. This could be a difficult task especially if u let it get out of hand. This is why I made a some tips and tricks on how to clean to interior of your car or truck like a pro and keep it looking for years to come! 

How often should you clean the interior of your car 

I’ve been a Professional detailer for about 12 years and also love to see a clean car. So I suggest about once ever two weeks, but it’s also depends on how much u use your car. I no life could get really busy and your interior could get out of control really fast so ever two should be perfect.

What to use to clean your car interior

There are many different tools that you’ll need to clean the car, not all car will need the same tools and products. But these are most of what u going to need to have your interior looking it’s best. 

How to clean your car interior:

Vacuum

Remove all carpets they just get in the way and mats and 

Vacuum the carpet, floor mats and upholstery; spay all purpose cleaner in your cup holders and brush with a detail brush to get most of the stuck dirt and grim loose then use an attachment to vacuum out cup holders, vacuum trunk.

Clean door jambs

Then moving on to the door jambs. There are hinges, nuts and bolts, which keep the door in place, may seem inconsequential, but they deserve a cleaning all the same!

Use a microfiber cloth that’s been dampened in a diluted mixture of all-purpose auto cleaner. Use only one section of the cloth at a time, and wipe the entire jamb — around the edges, under the door, around the hinges and where the door meets the body of the car. To avoid outbursts of mold and mildew, pay careful attention to the areas that can hold moisture.

 Clean hard plastic or Vinyl

Wipe down all hard plastics Use another clean microfiber cloth, spraying all purpose cleaning solution on your cloth These areas include the dashboard, instrument panel, compartments, door handles, plastic on doors, seat belts, side, shift and steering wheel.

To clean the hard part of  the steering wheel and the steering column, slide a damp microfiber cloth between the two parts and work it to remove dust and dirt. Rinse cloth in clean water when it gets dirty and dampen it again with cleaning solution. Use a dry detailing brush. 

Clean floor mats

Remove floor mats from the car and wash them with a soapy solution, using a scrub brush to clean difficult areas. Rinse and allow to dry before replacing in the car.

Clean windows and mirrors

Fold the cloth in fourths and spray the window with auto window cleaner. 

Pro tip: To prevent streaks on the glass, wipe it down with two microfiber cloth one that’s  damp from the window cleaner and the other that’s dry this one must remain dry at all time so the you don’t cause any streaks on your glass. 

Clean interior carpet

While the floor mats are removed, spot clean the car carpet as needed with a carpet cleaner. If your stains are really bad I suggest hiring a professional. The professional would have all the tools to get that job done correctly. 

 Clean floor mats

Remove floor mats from the car and spray them down with all purpose cleaner, using a detailing brush to clean difficult areas. Spray them off and allow to dry before replacing in the vehicle .
